四季生活筆記 ~ Life in Four Quarters 🍀

昨日行咗一轉旺角，天氣焗到爆，街上人山人海，大多數都係大陸遊客。佢哋一邊掃街買嘢，一邊搵地方打卡，連行人天橋都變成影相熱點。背景係霓虹燈、紅van、塞車街景——對佢哋嚟講，可能就係最地道嘅香港味。

我企喺一旁望住，心入面有啲複雜。年輕時成日嚟旺角，返工、約朋友、睇戲、食宵夜，樣樣都喺呢度發生。依家年紀大咗，怕迫、怕嘈，覺得旺角有啲亂，但又…..一直都係咁㗎啦！

香港變咗好多，十幾年嚟，唔少人選擇離開，話香港冇以前咁好。但我始終覺得，香港有佢獨特嘅味道——就算亂，就算細，但有種生命力係其他地方搵唔到。當然，我哋唔可以永遠靠「食老本」，唔可以再抱住「大香港」心態唔放。只要肯轉變、唔固步自封，香港仍然有希望，仍然值得我哋去珍惜。

Mong Kok Heatwave · Crowds and Check-ins Everywhere

I took a walk through Mong Kok yesterday. The heat was intense, and the streets were packed—mostly with mainland tourists. They were shopping non-stop and looking for photo spots everywhere. Even the pedestrian footbridges had turned into check-in hotspots. Neon signs, red minibuses, and traffic jams made up the backdrop—probably what they see as the “authentic Hong Kong vibe.”Standing aside, I felt a mix of emotions. Back in the day, I used to come here all the time—worked nearby, met friends, watched movies, grabbed late-night bites. Now that I’m older, I find the crowds overwhelming, the noise a bit much. Mong Kok feels chaotic, but strangely, I still feel attached to it. Hong Kong has changed a lot over the past decade. Many people have left, saying the city isn’t what it used to be. But I still believe Hong Kong has its own charm—messy, small, but full of life in a way that’s hard to find elsewhere. Of course, we can’t just live off past glory or cling to the “Big Hong Kong” mindset. If we’re willing to adapt and stay open-minded, Hong Kong still has potential—and it’s still a place worth loving.
